Welcome to Roux St. Cafe

At Roux St. Cafe, we believe that great food brings people together. Founded in 2024 by Brian and Kellie Washington, our family-owned restaurant is a labor of love inspired by a deep appreciation for the bold flavors and warm hospitality of Cajun and Creole cuisine.

Though neither of us hail from Louisiana, our passion for authentic Southern cooking runs deep. Brian’s time in Lafayette introduced him to the magic of Cajun flavors, and together, we’ve spent years perfecting recipes that capture the essence of Louisiana’s rich culinary traditions. After running Vocelli Pizza in Charlottesville for nearly two decades, we knew it was time to bring something new to the table—our very own slice of Cajun heaven.

With our three children—Mary, Patrick, and Junie—by our side, we’ve created a space where family, friends, and good food come together. From gumbo and étouffée to po’boys and beignets, every dish at Roux St. Cafe is made with the same love and care we put into our own family meals.
